A corollary to this… I think it’s important to let people know that you will help if they ask and if you can. Sometimes people don’t ask for help if they don’t think they know anyone who will help.
I don’t like being in a position to need and ask for help… but I’m not ashamed to ask for help when I need it, as long as I know I have someone to turn to.
And yeah, that was me going all-serious on a cute cartoon :)
I agree, sometimes the best way to start a serious conversation is to sneak up on it with something lighthearted. You can’t always do that for all topics, but when you can the conversations seem to happen more productively.

This is so true. It’s a lot easier to ask for help when you know that there’s someone there for you, that’s for sure.
I think all of these cute cartoons have a bit of seriousness to them, its good to talk about these things :)
