(Carrying on the Mental Health Week theme.)
It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to need help. It’s okay to reach out. It’s okay that you are tired and need a break and some time to recover and to breathe.
It’s not okay that in 2015 we are still afraid to ask for help because of the stigma that goes along with it. A lot more mental illness and suicide is coming our way until that changes. This is not okay.
Tell a doctor, tell a friend, tell your pastor, tell someone. Please. You are worth this, you are worth more than having no one in the world know that you are struggling. I know there is someone reading this that is so afraid to make that call, to take that leap. Take a breath, my beautiful friend. You deserve so much more.

Well said! I think your giraffe holding up a paper-thin facade is a perfect metaphor too.
Thank you. I’m setting up an appointment to talk with my pastor soon.

Hi Penny I was wondering if I could use this illustration to go with a limerick I’m writing on depression. No worries if it’s an issue. Cheers! B
